5 ways to repurpose your podcast content

In today’s digital world, there are countless options for presenting your content to your audience. Ideally, you want your content to be available on almost all digital platforms to improve your reach and discoverability but that in itself can be very time-consuming. As a podcaster, how can you tap into the different platforms that are not necessarily focused on audio?

Below are  5 different ways you can repurpose your podcast content to grow your audience and save you time.

Audiograms

One way to repurpose your content is to create an audiogram. This is a type of graphic or still image that can be used to highlight a particular clip from your show. It's an amazing way to share content on your websites and social media platforms. Having a long podcast can be hard to keep track of, but with an audiogram, you can easily highlight a snippet of the show to excite your listeners to experience the full episode.

Video Content

If your podcast is not in video format, it is still possible to convert it to video content by adding images or infographics to accompany what you are saying in the podcast episode. This does not need to be the full length of the episode. A 30-second video that can be used as an Instagram reel or Tik Tok will grab the attention of the intended audience and prompt them to click the link to the episode to engage with your content fully.

Social Media Images

You can create beautiful images or use viral memes with some of the best quotes from your episode and share them on social channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and Tiktok. The image can be accompanied by links to the episode and allows you to tag guests or brands. This is a good option for repurposing your content as it is easily shareable on the internet, which will result in growing your reach.

Blog Posts

You can produce a blog post as a companion to your podcast episode. The blog post does not need to be a direct transcription of the entire episode, however, it can be a meaningful written piece. You can embed a player to your blog post to allow those who want to engage deeper with the content to listen to the episode. Platforms such as Afripods have an episode or archive embeddable player that gives your audience easy access to your episodes on your blog. This is a great way to continue the conversation because it allows the audience to comment on your post.

Newsletters

Similar to blog posts, newsletters are a great companion piece to your podcast. You will be able to provide your audience with more than just audio. They can subscribe to your weekly/monthly newsletter which will keep them informed when you have new episodes and read about more content surrounding the podcast. You will find that your listeners engage more with you when you provide more than was expected.

These are five ways you can repurpose your podcast content to be used in multiple ways in the digital sphere. Keep in mind that you do not have to do all of these things, however choosing a few will go a long way in growing your audience and keeping them engaged.
